There are plenty of reasons to consider adopting a puppy from Prompt Puppy. Here are just a few.
The environment and process of raising puppies are crucial, and we take pride in having a top-notch kennel and an exceptional system for nurturing our puppies.
Q. Do you offer delivery?
A. Yes, we do! We provide delivery throughout the lower 48 states of the US. You can choose between ground delivery via a puppy bus or air travel to any international airport. Ground delivery costs range from $200 to $600, depending on location, while air travel starts at $150 to any international airport.
Q. Where are you located?
A. We are based in Watford City, ND, in the quaint town of Millersburg. We are about 1 hour and 30 minutes south of Cleveland and 1 hour and 45 minutes northeast of Columbus. We would be delighted to have you visit our puppies—just reach out to us to schedule a visit!
Q. How long have you been raising puppies?
A. We have been raising puppies for almost 10 years, specializing exclusively in Maltipoos.
Q. Are your puppies socialized?
A. Absolutely! Our family adores our puppies and begins socializing them as soon as possible. Each puppy is handled and played with daily, which significantly benefits their transition to your home. A well-socialized puppy adapts quickly and is less fearful, making training easier and enhancing their integration into your family.
Q. Do you keep your puppies in cages like most breeders, making them difficult to house train?
A. Not at all! At Promt Puppy, all of our puppies are pee pad trained before they go to their new homes. We raise them in their whelping pen with a separate area equipped with pee pads. By six weeks old, all puppies are using the pads for pooping, and by eight weeks, most are also using them for peeing. While this requires extra effort on our part, we believe it is crucial for their future families.
Q. What about puppy mills?
A. The term “puppy mill” generally refers to breeders who prioritize profit over the well-being of their puppies and maintain substandard conditions. This can involve dirty kennels, puppies kept in cages without socialization or exercise, overcrowding, and health issues. We are committed to raising our puppies in clean, caring environments and want to help you avoid breeders who do not uphold these standards.
Q. Can I pick up my puppy?
A. Certainly! While we offer delivery services to your doorstep, you are more than welcome to pick up your puppy from our location. Contact us to arrange a convenient pickup time, and we’ll have your puppy ready for you.
Q. Does Promt Puppy do anything special to address food aggression or resource guarding during the initial feeding period?
A. Yes, we do! We feed all of our puppies from the same circular dishes, teaching them to share from a young age. If a puppy shows signs of possessiveness, we gently correct them to encourage sharing. While this approach is not a complete solution, it helps set the foundation for a well-adjusted puppy who enjoys food and toys without becoming aggressive.
